The Highland Arts Theatre is always seeking to mirror the vast diversity of culture in the social fabric of Unama’ki/Cape Breton Island. Our work seeks to provoke discussion and redefine traditions of identity and character. Therefore, we encourage submissions from artists of all backgrounds, including, but not limited to, race, gender, body type, ethnicity, ability, and members of other under-represented communities. We welcome applicants to inform us of their pronouns and to include details about how their identity informs their artistic practice, should they wish.

CASTING BREAKDOWN

AUDITION CALL FOR MALE, FEMALE, & NON-BINARY ACTORS
(Ages 16 & Up with any level of experience)

This Winter, we will be hosting Video Auditions for anyone wishing to be considered for performing opportunities for the 2025 Mainstage Season at the Highland Arts Theatre. This is a general call to gauge interest and meet people. We will also include specific requirements for those interested in being considered for roles in “Putting it Together”, “A Mirror”, or “The Producers”.

Callbacks for specific shows will be scheduled at a later date on a case-by-case basis - and throughout the year for the 2025 Season.

You should receive a confirmation message that your audition was submitted, but we cannot commit to individual feedback at this time. If you don’t hear from us, you will still be in consideration for future projects.

Anyone wishing to be considered for our 2025 productions should submit for consideration by November 30th. Auditions may be submitted after the deadline but if you want to guarantee consideration for the most immediate castings we advise you to submit on time.
